Smaran Ravichandran is a high-intent batter from Karnataka who has taken only two seasons to establish himself in domestic cricket. A left-handed batter, Smaran made his senior debut for Karnataka in the 2024-25 domestic season. In 17 first-class matches so far, he has racked up 1534 runs at an impressive average of 73.04, including three double hundreds. The 22-year-old has also shone in other formats, averaging 50.33 in 18 List A games. In 13 T20s for Karnataka, he averaged 48.90 at a strike rate of 162.45. His standout performance came in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025 final, where his match-winning 101 against Vidarbha helped Karnataka lift the trophy. His consistent run earned him his first TATA IPL contract as he was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 30 lakhs as a replacement for Australian spinner Adam Zampa. Unfortunately, Smaran got injured, but tracking his progress, SRH retained him for the 2026 TATA IPL.
